Woman cop held in honeytrap case | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: Nearly four months after an inspector of the Women’s police station (East) was arrested, her subordinate, a woman head constable, was arrested by city crime branch on Tuesday. This is in connection with a case pertaining to extortion of money from at least five traders, by threatening to frame them in rape cases.
Crime branch officers said the woman head constable, Sharda Khant, along with another accused, Amar Solanki, had approached various traders on behalf of the accused police inspector Geeta Pathan, when the traders came at the Women’s police station (East) in Ahmedabad city, where the gang members used to file false rape complaints.
Khant and Solanki used to scare the traders saying they would be put behind bars for life and if they wanted to avoid legal action, then they should pay money to Pathan. Many traders got scared and paid money to Pathan.
