In what comes as good news for women in Andhra Pradesh, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has decided to fill 5905 vacant Anganwadi posts in the state.
A notification will be issued soon to replace 4,007 Anganwadi Helpers, 1,468 Main Anganwadi Worker Posts and 430 Mini Anganwadi Worker Posts.
The Anganwadi vacancies in AP will be filled by committees set up under the auspices of District Collectors. The state government has set the minimum qualification to 10th standard.
Applications are invited in stages and interviews will be conducted to complete the process.
Notably, in some districts, Anganwadi helpers and Anganwadi workers have been replaced recently. Workers in Main Anganwadi will get Rs 11,500 and workers in Mini Anganwadi will get Rs 7,000. Helpers will also be given Rs 7,000.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has focused on creating new jobs after he came to power and the government is trying to solve the issue of unemployment. Village volunteers have provided employment to over one lakh youth to carry out duties in their own areas in the name of ward volunteers. It has also been decided in the past to increase the salaries of Anganwadis.
