Anubhav Sinha, Manoj Bajpayee talk about making of Bhojpuri rap ‘Bambai Mein Ka Ba’, reuniting after 26 years

Earlier this month, Anubhav Sinha released the teaser of his highly-anticipated Bhojpuri music video, ‘Bambai Mein Ka Ba’, that marks his collaboration with Manoj Bajpayee. Some time back, a video was released of the director-actor duo talking about how the song came into existence and how it falls in line with the current socio-cultural norms.

Both Manoj and Anubhav shared interesting anecdotes and experiences from their own lives and their connections with Bhojpuri. Manoj also shared how he was inspired by the song the first time he read the lyrics and director Anubhav Sinha shared how his mother used to speak Bhojpuri but he started missing it after his mother passed away and that’s how he was inspired to create a Bhojpuri song.

The duo also shared how they are collaborating on the song and coming together after 26 years. The song ‘Bambai Mein Ka Ba’ was shot at a city studio in a day amid the coronavirus pandemic. “I have finished shooting most of my songs in one day, including the popular track ‘Dus Bahane’, and fortunately all those songs have been chartbusters,” Anubhav said.

Produced by Benaras Mediaworks in collaboration with T-Series, the song Bambai Mein Ka Ba will be launched soon. Manoj Bajpayee on Saturday dropped the teaser for Bhojpuri rap Bambai Mein Ka Ba. The rap is based on the plight of migrants amid the coronavirus lockdown.

“BREAKING !!! Bringing you a BHOJPURI RAP on the plight of the migrants!! Recited and sung a little bit by yours truly. Song by Sagar concept and video by our friend @anubhavsinha Aa gael aapke duarey!!! Teaser hai gaana jaldi aaega,” Manoj wrote while sharing the teaser.

The Bhojpuri rap talks about the migrants who come to the city of dreams to earn their living. The teaser showcases the lyrics of the song, as the rapper sings it. The short clip concludes with a shot featuring Bajpayee lying down on a couch at Mumbai central station.
