MUMBAI: Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has completed construction of the ‘station box’ of Vidhan Bhawan station on Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro-3 corridor. The construction includes the base, concourse, mezzanine and roof slabs. The first station that completed such construction was MIDC.
Vidhan Bhawan station, being constructed using the cut-and-cover method, will have seven entry/exit points.
“Vidhan Bhawan station will witness heavy footfalls as it provides connectivity to the new administrative building, Vidhan Bhawan, and Mantralaya,’’ said MMRC’s managing director Ranjit Singh Deol. The station is expected to see footfalls of more than 75,000. Overall work of the station is 75% done.
